We are so thankful to the Lord for how He blessed our mission to Myanmar last month. In a country that is deceived and blinded by the darkness of buddhism, the light of the gospel is beginning to shine!
Children’s Outreach
We planned a children’s outreach for 150 children and were wonderfully surprised when over 230 showed up! We had children come from all around the slums and neighborhoods surrounding Pastor Ling’s orphanage and house-church. We had a fun-filled day with games, bible stories, puppets and music! At the end of the day, we shared the gospel and many of these children came to faith Jesus! These sweet children are the future of the country. If we can reach them, we can reach the nation!
Church Leader Conference
Burma is overwhelmingly lost, but not without hope! We saw over 150 church leaders who are passionate about serving Jesus and reaching their nation. Our conference for these pastors and church leaders was the heart of this year’s mission. For three days, we poured into these men and women covering topics like the doctrine of salvation, sanctification, evangelism, and servanthood. These humble Burmese church leaders vigorously soaked up every word. It was an absolute honor to open up the Word of God with these men and women.
Joining with them in worship was one of the most encouraging things I have ever experienced. It didn’t matter we don’t speak or understand Burmese, when they sang, it felt like I was instantly ushered into the presence of God with them! What a sweet and special time it was to worship the Lord with our brothers and sisters on the other side of the world.
Continued Partnership
I am now more convinced than ever of our need to partner with the house churches in Myanmar. Pastor Ling and his family are absolutely committed to reaching their nation with the gospel. They are actively involved in evangelism and church planting. They just lack partner-ships. We already have several people who are committed to go with us again next year. Will you pray about being a part? We need lay leaders to help with our children’s outreach as well as pastors and teachers for our church leader’s discipleship conference.
I want to say thank you to so many of you who helped make this trip possible. You may never know until eternity the impact your prayers and support have had. Thank you for investing in what God is doing in Myanmar. I believe we are about to see the Spirit of God move in this country like he never has before in history.
